Partners Recognize October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month
10/1/2011
Did you feel a bump? Call your doctor today, is how the signs read at Giles County High School and Richland High Schools. The Women’s Imaging Suite at Hillside and Giles County Coordinated School Health have partnered to promote breast cancer awareness this month by placing the signs near bumps in the road at each school. At Giles County High there is even a speed bump painted pink symbolizing the pink ribbon icon recognized for breast cancer. A special thank you to the Pulaski Street Department for painting the speed bumps.
The two groups have also had booths set up at school events passing out breast cancer information along with pink footballs, clappers, and sunglasses. Hillside Hospital provided pink ribbon decals for the varsity football team’s helmets along with pink sweatbands.
