Healing Hearts at Hillside!
Hillside Hospital's Phase II Cardiac Rehab Program is up and running.
Cardiac Rehab Phase II is an outpatient rehabilitation program for heart patients who have recently been discharged from the hospital. This program offers supervised, progressive exercise regimens customized to your individual needs.
Brian Marks is the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services and exercise physiologist David Carmichael monitors the participating cardiac patients. Patients also have the opportunity to meet with Hillside’s Registered Dietitian concerning a more healthy diet, as well as meeting with a pharmacist to discuss any questions they may have about medications. As a Cardiac Rehab Phase II participant, the exercise sessions are scheduled three times a week at the hospital. Patients also receive an additional exercise regimen to be used at home.
Before this program, many cardiac rehab patients lost interest because they had to drive out of town so many times. Our new program is designed to help people complete the necessary rehabilitation steps in a convenient and effective manner.
